Can someone explain what an STO is? I keep seeing the term but don't get it
I've been getting into crypto lately and keep running into the term "STO" in articles. I understand it has something to do with token issuance, but I'm not clear on how it's different from an ICO, which I'm more familiar with. Can someone explain in simple terms what an STO is, how it works, and if it's something a regular investor can participate in? Any help would be appreciated.

Great question, and the confusion makes sense because they share technical similarities but are very different in essence. An STO (Security Token Offering) is basically issuing a token that represents a regulated financial asset, like company shares or profit participation. Unlike ICOs where tokens are usually "utility" tokens without real backing, STOs comply with regulations and are backed by real assets. They give investors rights like voting or revenue distribution, similar to traditional stocks. If you want a deeper dive, I found a solid explanation of what is a sto on Paybis's blog – it breaks down the differences, how to participate, and the regulatory side. Much clearer than most articles I've read.
